Journey Through Aging – November 19, 2011

The Journey Through Aging Radio Program is dedicated all month to the
topic of Alzheimer’s Awareness.  On November 19, 2011 program we will
explore a new definition for dementia, learn some of the causes for
Alzheimer’s disease, be provided a list of caregiving tips to relieve
stress and discover what should be included in a family care plan when
caring for someone who lives with dementia.

Segment 1 – Host Joel Wrobbel provides information about the OPRS Honorable Service Grant for Veterans. In addition Dr. Al Power talks with Joel about a new definition for dementia.

Segment 2 – Author Beth Baker shares her research and insights about the causes of Alzheimer’s disease

Segment 3 – Michele Stokes with the Gerlach Center for Senior Health in central Ohio shares care giving tips to help relieve stress

Segment 4 – What should be included in a family care plan? George Knight with the Center for Interactive Geriatric Assessment in Cincinnati, Ohio will gives a family friendly list to consider.
